How to download an Instagram photo
To save a single image, open the feed post, tap the three-dot (…) menu above it and choose Copy link — or copy the instagram.com/p/… URL straight from your browser's address bar. Paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Download. The photo comes back as a full-resolution JPG in one step, with no quality or format menu to set.
On a computer and on Android the JPG lands in your Downloads folder, ready for your gallery app to pick up. On iPhone, Safari saves it through the share sheet into the Files app; open Files, tap the image and choose Save Image to move it into Photos.
Full-resolution JPG, not the compressed grid thumbnail
Instagram keeps several sizes of the same picture. The small square on a profile grid and the preview in your feed are heavily compressed thumbnails — scaled down and re-encoded to load fast. Right-clicking that preview or screenshotting it only ever gives you the shrunken, soft version.
This tool fetches the largest rendition Instagram stored for the post — the closest copy to what the creator uploaded — and saves it as a full-resolution JPG you can actually crop, reuse or print. Nothing is upscaled: you get the real resolution Instagram kept, not an invented one.

Photos, profile pictures and video are different jobs
This page is for in-feed photos and carousels. A profile picture — the round avatar (DP) at the top of a profile — isn't a post, so it has no instagram.com/p/ link to paste; it's looked up by username instead. Why an Instagram photo won't download
The most common reason is that the account or post isn't public. Private profiles, close-friends posts and anything you can only see while logged in aren't served to the open web, so no legitimate tool can fetch them — and none should ever ask for your Instagram password to try.
A stale or app-mangled link is the next culprit. If a paste fails, open the post in a normal browser and copy the clean instagram.com/p/… URL. Deleted, archived and region-blocked posts resolve to nothing, and a bare username or profile-picture link won't work here — this page needs an actual photo-post link.
